	I’m a&#38;nbsp;writer based in Los Angeles. I have an MFA in literature and creative nonfiction from the Bennington Writing Seminars and a BA in communication studies with an emphasis in mass media from UCLA. My essay “The Sauna” was a Notable in Best American Essays 2025. I have over ten years of experience in project management, marketing, copywriting, and editing. Some of my current and former clients include Subtropic Studios, the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi Project, LA Metro, and Headspace. 	I’m a freelance journalist and essayist. I have eclectic interests and write about a range of topics, including art, culture, food, lifestyle, and the immigrant experience. Some things I’ve written about include: Cinespia,&#38;nbsp;love,&#38;nbsp;the impermanence of renting, farmers markets, pizza, cousins,&#38;nbsp;Russian-speaking banquet halls,&#38;nbsp;immigrant nostalgia, useless bodies, friendship breakups, friendship coaches, cockroaches, a dinner cruise, hyper-surveillance, women artists reimagining the landscape, and&#38;nbsp;a queer cruising paradise. My essays have been featured in the LAist newsletter, the New York Times newsletter, and&#38;nbsp;Memoir Monday. I was a guest on LAist 89.3 Air Talk with Larry Mantle reporting on my story, LA Runs on Fusion Cuisine.  In summer 2024, I was Dinty W. Moore’s teaching assistant and a&#38;nbsp;fellow at the Kenyon Review Writers Workshop. I have extensive experience in content writing, print and digital ad copy, SEO, and email marketing.  ︎ Campaign Manager
	︎ K Line Grand Opening I led the marketing campaign for the grand opening of seven new K Line stations in South Los Angeles. The campaign consisted of paid, owned, and earned media and amounted to thousands of new Metro riders opening weekend. My tag line “Connect to Creativity” was featured in the New York Times. I also worked closely with Mobolaji at DreamSeeker Media on an artful promotional video.&#38;nbsp;

I managed the marketing and communications for LA County’s rideshare service, Metro Micro. Although it was challenging to launch a service and build ridership during the pandemic, I was able to work remotely with my team and lead the development of the service name, vehicle design, how to and promo videos, and an organic and paid marketing campaign and digital strategy. Metro Micro was featured on Adam Conover’s TikTok, amounting to over 250k organic likes and a write up in Next City, where I was quoted. Micro is the largest public sector microtransit pilot of it’s kind, currently available in eight LA County zones.

	︎ Bike the Movement


I led LA Metro’s Bike the Movement campaign meant to empower Angelenos to embrace biking. This was a robust marketing campaign with both a traditional and paid media strategy, including billboards all over LA county. My team and I interviewed local bike advocates from the community and used their portraits and quotes for the creative campaign. The campaign delivered over 18k visits to the landing page.

	︎ Expo Line to Santa Monica 


As the lead on LA Metro’s Expo Line to Santa Monica ridership campaign, I oversaw every aspect of marketing this new rail line, including writing the headline, managing the creative concepts, wireframing the website, paid media outreach, partnerships (KCRW and Uber) and marketing the opening day events. The opening was featured in the LA Times and The New Yorker. My team’s efforts led to over 80k riders opening weekend.

I worked with LA Metro and Heritage Tree Films to develop an educational mini-series showcasing construction progress on several mega construction rail projects. The videos were shot in both 2D and 360° formats. I spent several weeks in a hard hat and steel toe boots exploring LA’s most historic neighborhoods underground. I also wrote the script, formulated a marketing strategy and worked closely with media buyer, Civilian, on paid digital outreach. The most viewed video reached nearly 30k organic YouTube views in the first week of release.

To build support for LA Metro’s Crenshaw/LAX Transit Project, I developed a campaign that featured local community members. My team and I photographed and interviewed construction workers, local business owners, and patrons at Taste of Soul . We turned the photos and quotes into content as paid social ads, vinyl banners and posters on buses and trains.
